Life

A word of warning my friends.

I have decided to go back to school.

I currently have a BFA in Theatre Arts but have decided to pursue a certificate (only because they don't yet offer a degree) in strategic communications. I am hoping beyond hope that I will be able to perhaps get a second bachelors degree. I am meeting with my advisor on Tuesday and will, hopefully, learn more about whether or not that can happen. The university I will be attending does not currently offer a masters degree in anything that remotely interests me which is why I am choosing this avenue of study. Anyway the reason I am telling you all of this is to warn you that posting may be a bit more sporadic over these next few months. I am hoping to do at least 4 posts a week but some weeks I may end up only doing 3. Please don't get frustrated or annoyed and decide to stop reading if this happens. It will take me a while to strike a balance. I am certain of that. Class is on Wednesday night and Thursday night. So more than likely I will only be posting on Monday - Wednesday and perhaps a random Thursday or Friday here or there.

My life is about to get crazy. I will be trying to balance maintaining a healthy marriage, holding down a full-time job, blogging, putting together a business plan (more on that later), going to the gym, going to class, studying... the list goes on and on. So please, promise me you will bear with me. I promise I won't abandon you.

Okay. Enough about that. Let's ogle some shoes!

Giuseppe Zanotti - Glitter Pump

I love how with the addition of a silver glittered cap toe Giuseppe Zanotti manages to make a girl look twice. Something that without that extra little detail would seem ordinary. A little been there, done that. But with it, this pump manages to exude a uniquely sexy vibe. I simply adore how the smallest details can really change one's perspective. Currently pining to add these to my wardrobe... and believe it or not the price, while high, is not unattainable. And who couldn't use a little sparkle?

Trend Spotting - Lace

As I've been perusing websites trolling for hot shoes I have picked on a a little trend that no one seems to be talking about, as evidenced below. And here.

House of Harlow - Lace Bootie

Just remember. You heard it here first. And as it turns out, Elle agrees with me.

Oops, I Gilty Pleasured Again

Ha, ha. That blog post title sounds really dirty. So, I may or may not have purchased a 2nd pair of shoes from Gilt Groupe on Friday. I couldn't help myself. It's as if some higher power had influence over me and guided my hand click through click. I don't even need a pair of gold Cynthia Vincent fringed strappy sandals but it's that savings. They were $88. $88 dollars people!!!! It. Gets. Me. Every. Time.

The more I look at them, the more excited I get. I love the shape and I know the fringe trend is still going to be around come fall. I'm excited to pair these with more casual things. A simple cotton dress or a printed a-line skirt. It should be fun and a challenge to see how much wear I can get out this shimmering gold beauty.

I don't know why but for some reason they remind me of these. This sexy Zanotti sandal that Samantha made so famous in the sushi scene of that little movie about sex that came out last spring. I think it's the shape. It's somewhat similar and the fringe is slightly reminiscent of the fish bones.

What do you say? If you are a member of Gilt have you found yourself getting sucked into a MUST. PURCHASE. haze?

Hot Trends - Exotics

Call me crazy but I feel like exotics have been a "Hot Trend" for quite some time now. So much so that I really think they could be considered a wardrobe staple. If you haven't already invested in a pair I highly recommend you do as I believe this is one "Hot Trend" not soon to disappear.

Lovely People - Olivia

These lovely shoes by Lovely People remind me of a pair of Franco Sarto mary janes that I have had for years. I've been thinking of finding a pair to replace them and these just may do the trick. I love that these feature suede, leather, and embossed leather. A combo that could be seemingly be tricky but it really works here.

Calvin Klein - Sarika

A basic black pump that is anything but. The platform, the stacked heel, the funky embossed leather. The color here is called Black Koi and I like that the "skin" looks more fish than snake. The larger scallop print is really what gets me. This pump is a classic.

I DIE. Seriously??? What's not to love? Oh my. The shape! The shape! These are simply stunning. I love the color combo and um did I mention the shape????? Oh how I dream of owning these.

Giuseppe Zanotti Mirror embellished ankle boots

Stunning!  This ankle boot by Giuseppe Zanotti has sent my heart a-flutter.  Anyone wanna go disco dancing?  This is the type of shoe that I would carry in my bag and then slip on once I got inside for fear of losing one of those precious gems on the heel.  Speaking of heels, imagine teetering around on 5inches worth of mirrors and gems.  With these beauties you wouldn't need anything but the simplest LBD or your favorite pair of skinny jeans.  Oh how I long for this shoe.  Rock n' Roll baby, Rock n' roll!

Giuseppe Zanotti Multicolored Pump

The subtle color blocking on this pump by Giuseppe Zanotti has me all a twitter! I love the color combination. The tomato red patent leather and the curved detail of the beige leather with the contrasting black piping at the heel is simply divine. Add to that a classic shape and 4.5 inch heel and I'm done in! Simple. Beautiful. Perfect.

Splurge vs. Steal

Love the look of high end designer shoes but on a budget. Check out these finds below.

Now I know I already talked about the Dior Extreme Gladiator (See post "Let's talk about SEX baby!) However I failed to mention that on the same day I received my Nine West version I spotted this pair by Steve Madden.

Steal Carrie's look by pairing them with a flirty floral dress and studded belt or create a look of your own.

I love the idea of pairing these with something super feminine and girly.

Next I spotted these little gems by Guess on Piperlime. BTW they are having a sale on select styles right now. Up to 40% off!

The Guess version is very reminiscent of this pair, below, by Giuseppe Zanotti wouldn't you say? I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the tortoise shell detail on the heel but the pretty pair pictured above is definitely more budget friendly.

Got a suggestion for Splurge vs. Steal, let me know in your comments to this post.
