Ciao belle! I'm back home between trips for a few days so I definitely want to drop in for a bit to get blogged and play catch up. I'll be headed for France later this week, so I decided to join the 21st century this weekend and get one of these.  And so far all I've really done is play Angry Birds ad nauseum and buy my weight's worth in books. Who says high-technology is wasted on me?

In the interim, here are a few random pics from Milan - I believe I've consumed more than my fill of carbs, cheese, and red wine this past week!

A Motivational Stripe

For you gals who have read my posts for a while now, you know that my diet is typically atrocious and my exercise routine perpetually stalled. Well I know this is still too soon to say, but using the "if I shout it from the Blogtops, then I need to live up to it" mentality, I am hoping my lackluster days are behind me now.

On the diet front, I've been keeping a food diary for about two weeks - though I haven't been keeping up. However, the process of writing it all down has helped me mentally think of what I'm consuming so I'm not just randomly grabbing whatever suits me and stuffing it into my mouth. That, and opting to chew gum when I am bored, plus having a bunch of healthier food options available, has definitely help to (mostly) curb the junk food munchies.

As for my non-fitness routine, I actually went to the gym two whole days in a row (seriously, big deal for me) and spent time on the treadmill - on Saturday I ran/walked almost two miles in twenty minutes, and yesterday I did over one mile on the treadmill before working some of the weight equipment and playing a few rounds of racquetball with the BF.

I'm taking small steps to get into a Healthier Lisa groove but it certainly isn't easy - I had fried chicken for dinner last night and I am struggling to get the excuses out of my head today so I can squeeze in another quick trip to the gym (I can't get myself motivated enough to do it first in the morning!) How do you gals keep yourselves exercising regularly?

As for my Easter dinner, I didn't cook the "great American Easter version of Thanksgiving" dinner. Seemed like too much hassle for just two people. Plus I was just clueless and didn't feel like making a whole ham. So we grilled some meats and had them with salad and some dinner rolls.

However, on Saturday night, I did try out a new-to-me recipe I stumbled onto from The Pioneer Woman - her sour cream noodle bake. When I first read the ingredient list, I was a little dubious about the flavor combo, but the yummy food photography swayed me and I am glad I tried it. BF even had seconds! which is typically a sign of recipe success - BF is worse than Mikey!

We used fat free cottage cheese and sour cream to lighten the load, and next time will try this with some ground turkey or chicken. I did toss in some fresh basil, but pretty much kept true to the recipe. And of course I made enough to feed a small army.

So because I am nosy and a total food addict - what did you all have for Easter dinner?
