Pleasantly Peasant-y

Off to my Harajuku Lovers meeting today...
I was told that I looked like a hippie, a pilgrim, and a slutty grandma today. Whatever, I liked it.

Love these Louboutin espadrille bottom wedge boots. So comfy and versatile. These will take me all the way through Spring. They're a great slouchy canvas and I'm wearing them here with my Betsey Johnson OTK socks.

A little Insider's Secret...

So have you guys checked out Bakers Shoes lately? Well, let me just tell you... they have some GOOD knock offs. Especially L.A.M.B. knockoffs.
My "insider's secret"? Well, I hear they are made in the same factories (sometimes) as the original!! The quality of leather of course isn't always the same, but I think that they could be a cool alternative for those of us on a budget? ;)

Check it out!

Very LAMB!

Another LAMB inspired shoe..

A TOTAL LAMB knockoff!! (check out the original)

Crazy, right?

Hmmm.... What to Wear?

I bought these Pradas last year after being bombarded by them in every editorial spread out there. The problem was that in the editorials, they were SUPER high (as you can see)... in reality- not so much. So I've worn them a total of once. I wanted to give them some love today.

...But, being not only a girl, but a Gemini girl- I changed my mind.

These Betsey Johnson Boots are some of my faves. They're probably about 3 years old and I love them! The heel tap on the left one is worn down so much that it makes annoying click clacking when I walk but I'm too lazy to get them fixed.

A MUCH Better Alternative to Uggs...

Ok, so yesterday I found these cute little pull-on boots at Brass Plum (Nordstrom) and when I slipped them on this morning I thought... what a great alternative to Uggs for those who just can't let go.

Hear me out. If you love Uggs it can't be for the looks, right? They're heinous.

So maybe you like the ease of a soft boot that you can just slip on and go? Well, these have the same function while being a lot cuter.

Maybe you like the price? How much are Uggs? Like $150? That's pretty good for a pair of boots
right? Well, these are only $79.95

Maybe it's the wear-with-everything tan color it comes in? Well these come in that same color! Look at that!

Anyway, my point is that I do understand comfort but let's not completely forget style, OK ladies? I mean, these are definitely not the cutest boots I own, but they're comfy and easy to wear and go. :)

Don't forget kiddies: Uggs rhymes with FUGGS for a reason.

WTF Do You Wear to Gwen's Party?

Well, I wore this. I figured it was cute, without looking like I tried too hard. Plus I had to make sure that the shoes, or boots in this case, were the statement of the outfit. They're L.A.M.B. and I L-O-V-E them.

I got a lot of compliments of the boots including Shirley Manson telling me she loved them, and Gwen herself telling me she almost wore them too. Ya, I was pretty stoaked.

Anyway- a few of you have asked for pics of me in my shoes so here you go. I feel like a weirdo posting pics of myself, but I covered my face with my hair, so it's not so bad. Hey, I'm no Rumi but I hope you like.

L-O-V-E these boots!

How perfect are these flat buckle boots!? They're by Jinny Kim, and at $433 they're at least semi-affordabe!
It looks like there's a hidden wedge in there but the description doesn't mention it. I love any extra height on a shoe so hopefully I'm right.

I think this is a great way to do an over the knee boot without looking at all trashy. These look super comfy and easy to wear over and over. I'm seriously debating on getting them, even though I just got those Fry boots... Hmmm

New Boots!

Looky looky! I just picked up these motorcycle boots by Frye at Bloomies, and I love them. They're a lot more masculine than what I usually wear but they look great with a pair of skinny jeans and a loose fitting american apparel v-neck. They're super comfy too, just slide them on and go.

The best thing is that Frye is known for their boot making and for their boots lasting forever. So even at $375 (which I think is a GREAT price for a boot) its a total steal.

They're very Kate Moss-ish don't you think?

The Wellington...

So I'm sure you all know that the wellington is going to be HUGE this season, even in places like California where they're as impractical as Uggs in the summer. How often does it rain her? Like 5x a year?

Anyway, It seems like every brand is doing them, so you'll have lots to choose from. There's everyting from the plain and traditional and the young and extreme. You'll see all kinds of wacky prints and colors.

I personally love these plain wellys from Marni. I love the navy color. It's a nice go-with-everything look without being boring black. You can find them at Browns for about £85

Fugs.

Please don't. That's all I can say about this boot. PLEASE do not.
It's not cute. It's not funky fresh. It's fugly.

Well... maybe for a clown hooker costume? Halloween is sorta close.

No. Never mind. Just don't.

Boots on the Brain...

I'm so excited for Fall and all the lovely boots that are sure to pop up. Every time I'm out and see an awesome pair I actually get excited for the chillier weather to come around.
Any-hoo, I saw these in my Urban Outfitters catalogue this morning and was very excited. I love the little vintage inspired heel and round toe shape. I'm also really feeling the slouchyness of it all and imagining how amazing these will look with my new William Rast skinny jeans! ;) There are snaps on the boot so you can wear them up or down... a nice detail I think.
You can find them at Urban Outfitters for $125. An awesome deal if you ask me! (click the link for more detailed images)

Not My Style, and Yet... LOVE it.

So I was gettin' my hair did today and one of the hair stylists had these boots on, and though they are totally not something I would think of as "my style", she was rocking them so hard.
She wore them with super skinny dark jeans and a snug fitting red plaid shirt with the sleeves rolled up. SO cute you guys. I always love that mix of feminine and masculine, as long as the feminine prevails. It's so cute.
These are by Fiorentini + Baker and are at Barneys for under $500, which I think is pretty great.
