A Very Minkoff Giveaway

Blogiversary 1.5 years for me coming up this month whilst I am away, so what better way for me to celebrate than to share a little somethin' somethin' with you fantastically fashionable ladies?

IMG_5003

I've received a ton of compliments about my striped Rebecca Minkoff pouches (seen here and here) so how better a way of saying "thank you" to you readers for hanging in with me through my sartorial mismatching, broken physical fitness promises and overt wordiness than to offer one lucky gal her own set?

IMG_5000

This giveaway is for one set of three Rebecca Minkoff striped pouches. The pouches are brand new, coated canvas with goldtone RM hardware and fully lined interiors. The smallest pouch also has a keyring.

I love using the two larger pouches as standalone clutches, but they would be perfect little wallets or cosmetic bags or whatever you like. The largest pouch measures 9.5" x 7" and the smallest is 6" x 4".

Entering is super-duper easy:
  1. Be a public follower of respect the shoes
  2. Leave a comment on this post (please include your e-mail if it's not on your profile or blog)
* For an extra entry, you can blog about this giveaway - and just leave a link as an additional comment

Contest ends on Thursday, June 30 at 11:59 p.m. EST. Winner will be drawn randomly and announced shortly after that.

Merci beaucoup!

Fine print: This giveaway is sponsored fully by me for my readers. It is not sponsored by Rebecca Minkoff. That's all.

Do You Like GFS?

I have a goodie giveaway ONLY for those who LIKE GFS on Facebook!

So, I ask again...do you Like GFS?
You have to comment on the actual GFS Facebook page to enter:)

Defiant

Let's count all the style rules that I'm probably breaking...

(Thank you Ashley of Mocha Mommies for taking pics & being a dreamweaver!)

1. Stripes are a no-no on those "thick in the hips"
2. Top heavy chicks shouldn't wear loose fitting tops
3. Matching is necessary
4. Style bloggers should not repeat clothes (I'm not sure if that's a rule)

I pretty much broke them all. When I was 3 or 4 years old, I kissed a hot stove because somebody said don't touch it. It's what I do. Doesn't always work out for me. But it will never be from the lack of trying:)

Tee/Skirt: Target
PLV "Irina" Heels
I ordered a dress from ASOS last year & it arrived in that beautiful fabric. I decided to stuff one of my large clutches in it.

Wanna Win $100 to Shopbop? Giveaway time!

I've been blessed by the blogee land contest gods recently, so it thrills me to give one of you lucky gals an opp to win yourself a little shopping spree with Shopbop!

The great folks at Shopbop contacted me recently and asked if I was interested in hosting a giveaway for my readers - and heck yes I am! Who doesn't love free money to go shopping with - so here's an opp for one of you gals to win a $100 gift certificate to Shopbop.

I'm a relative newbie to the online retailer, but I've been addicted to perusing their site for the past few weeks and recently got a blouse from them. Shopbop's got a huge designer clothing sale section that gets updated a ton, and carries brands like Jeffrey Campbell and Ash Italia (am I the only person not to have known that there was such a thing as Jeffrey Campbell flats? Love the patent ones). There are a ton of new stuff there right now that I am drooling over, and my wishlist is getting full!

The rules to enter this contest are simple:
  • Be a public follower of respect the shoes
  • Leave a comment on this post with your e-mail address (if there's not already a way to reach you via your profile or blog)
* For an extra entry, blog about this contest and leave an additional comment with the link.

Contest concludes at 11:59 p.m. EST on Sunday, March 20 and a winner will be selected shortly after that, courtesy of our buddy, random.org.  International entries are welcome, but unfortunately PA bloggers are not eligible, sorry! This giveaway is sponsored by the folks from Shopbop.

Thanks and good luck!

Don't Forget!

Don't forget to enter the GFS giveaway sponsored by I Got Wired Jewelry!

You could win your own personalized hand stamped copper charm necklace if you enter here by Friday, Feb. 11! Click here to enter! It's easy! No gimmics. No hoops you have to jump through:)

And don't forget to shop SFAM's Closet! We just added new inventory including a  Diane Von Furstenberg dress! As Phaedra from The Housewives from Atlanta would say....Ummmmmm hmmmm!

(P.S..I'm going to a concert tomorrow and I can't figure out what to wear. Scroll through a few old posts and piece together an outfit for me. I'm so needy huh:)

And Now Without Further Ado ...

... it's time to announce the winner of my blogiversary giveaway!

Thank you all again for entering, and for reading my blog! I know blogging isn't about freebies but I think hosting little "thank yous" every now and again is fun and shows a bit of my appreciation for you lovely ladies. So THANK YOU to everyone who continues to - or just started to - follow me in my little world of attempted fashionable-ness.

OK, OK, so for real now, without further ado, the winner of the aspasia necklace from tree & kimball and a $25 gift card to Anthro or J. Crew is ... out of 134 comments and 129 unique entries ... (drum roll ...)

Amy Kelinda from kelinda.KELINDA!

Amy was one of the first fashion bloggers I found way back when and her blog continues to be one of my fave to read. If you haven't checked out her blog yet, you're missing out! She's got a wicked sense of humor and an eclectic sense of style, plus hearts Anthro and J. Crew as much as I do!

Amy, you've asked for the Anthro card, so I'll be shooting you over an e-mail with some details.

Thanks again to everyone who participated!

A Belated One (and Giveaway)

Time seems to have flown by so quickly that I didn't even register it initially - only in retrospect did I realize that this little blog of mine is now almost 13 months old. So happy bakers' dozen me!

I know I've said this before, but never did I ever imagine when I wrote my first post that over a year later I'd still be posting and that real life people would actually be reading my rambling rambles! Much less such a wonderful community of generous and sharing ladies like yourselves!

As a mini thank you for all of you who have taken time out of your lives to read and comment and share on my blog, I would like to offer up the following for one of my lovely readers to win - the beautiful aspasia necklace from Etsy seller tree & kimball!

tree & kimball is the brainchild of former Anthropologie jewelry designer Lisa Bruemmer and her pieces are designed using recycled patches of vintage lace. The aspasia necklace is a dainty piece I could envision as a great finisher to a filmy top or casualed out just over a striped tee or solid turtleneck.

As a bonus, I will also be giving that same lucky gal her choice of either a $25 gift card to:

OR

Entering is simple simple:
  1. Be a public follower of respect the shoes on Google Friend Connect
  2. Leave a comment below on this post with your e-mail address (if it is not already on your profile or blog) with which gift card you'd prefer
* For an extra entry, you can blog about this giveaway and leave the link as an additional comment.

And that's it! Contest is open to everyone, and ends on Sunday, February 6, at 11:59 p.m. EST.  Winner will be selected by our mutual bestie, random.org!

Tiny print - this giveaway is not sponsored by or associated with tree & kimball, Anthropologie or J.Crew. I like their stuff and I hope you do too!

Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner!

Thank you www.ShoeClips.biz for sponsoring the first GFS Giveaway!

I used Random.Org to choose the winner)

And SweetHunny...You get the funniest comment award of the week! I laughed ridiculously hard at your comment about my Christ Chic look:

Sweethunny said:
So you know you look like the deacon's bougie wife at church right?! (the one that thinks she too good to belong to the little church and should be at the big one across the street). But you are definitely rocking the hell out of that hat and I absolutely love the shoes!

It's only funny because it's so true! I would be that deacon's wife that never showed up to any of the bake sales and side eyed all the crying children in the church! LOL

P.S...thanks for all the kind words about my little mention in Essence Magazine! We're all friends in each others heads! And a big THANK YOU to the CFO, photographer, sponsor, temperamental financier, part time health advisor (meaning he usually has to stop my knee from bleeding when I fall and bust my butt daily) also known as "the dude". Thanks Sean for spearheading Team GFS from the beginning:)

Undercover

If a friend called me to come spy on her blind date and write down his license plates number...this is what I would throw on every time.

 Urban Outfitters Cap/Jeans
Thrifted Western shirt
Seychelles Booties

What would you throw on if you had only minutes to get ready to spy on your best girlfriend's blind date?

Wanted: Forks, Slips and Socks

(Vintage dress I got when I was in ATL, Anne Klein shoe, Target Belt, JCP necklace)

Does anyone else have an invisible monster thief in their house? It can't be just me! I lose socks and slips and forks all the time! I have no idea how it happens! It baffles me. I never have forks in my house...never...and  I practically live alone!

Socks? Forget about it. If you ever ran up on me while I work out (which is never) and yanked my pants up, you will expose one foot with a gray puma sock and the other foot with my nephew's little league footbal sock.  I never keep socks!! NEVER. It's crazy!

The same goes for this dress. I have a black slip that I wear under this because it's so sheer. I've seen it all week and this morning when I woke up...SLIP GONE! I don't get it. I will admit that I schlep a travel bag sometimes because I'm visiting the dude...but geesh... Who is stealing my stuff!?!

If you see a random person walking around with socks and a slip while eating their dinner with my forks...tell them I said GIVE ME MY STUFF BACK!

GFS Goodies and Giveaway!

I have a treat for you! Shoe Clips  is sponsoring the first EVER GFS giveaway! Remember those shoe clips I rocked last week?

Well, one of you lucky people will get to win a pair of your very own shoe clips. Specifically...these Ultrasuede Bow Ocelot shoe clips valued at $42! I figured since animal prints are all the rage this season...why not rock the clips on your shoes. Chances are you can use them to cinch a jacket that's a little loose in the back or even clip to a belt to add a little interest to a simple outfit.

All you have to do is:

1. Be a follower of my blog (or subscriber) (International readers are welcome!)
2. Leave a comment telling me how you would rock your Shoe Clips.
3. If you tweet this giveaway, leave a separate comment here in this post as a second entry. (My tweet tag: godsfaveshoe)
4. If you link this giveaway, leave a separate third comment here.
5. That's It! I will randomly draw a winner after the contest closes.

No more entries after Friday, October 8. Good luck! Thank you Lynn @ Shoe Clips for the giveaway!

Also, I got to DIY my own purse over at I SPY DIY! My purse was chosen as a finalist! Hop on over there and look at the pretty, pretty purses then choose #5 because it's mine...that is if you think I deserve it:)

(Of course, mine would be the only one with an animal print!)
Have  a great week!
(Oh, you know I'm in a thrifting challenge...click here to see  some of what Juanette got!)
(Oh again...according to Mary, I'm a SENSATIONAL WOMAN!(click here) Thanks Mary...I've got your gin ready!)

And the Winner of the Anthropologie Necklace is ...

Thanks to all your wonderful lovelies who participated in my giveaway! I appreciate you all having taken the time to enter this contest and I seriously cannot thank you all enough for reading my little blog.

Without further ado, using Random.org to select a number from 75 entries (74 in the giveaway post and 1 entry that was put in the comments from another post), here are the results.

And the winner of the lovely Grandma's Treasure Trove necklace from Anthropologie is:

Jamie from Thrifty Threads!

Please check out Jamie's blog if you haven't had a chance to yet! She's got an awesome sense of girlish style, is a fellow Anthro-lover and has a nose for great deals! Congrats, Jamie, an e-mail will be coming your way!

Thank you all again for your great support! Without the support from my beautiful blogee friends, 200+ posts on this little blog would have never happened.
