xox,

Delema: WTF Do I Wear??

Ok, I have about an hour to make a decision here and I'd LOVE your help! QUICK!
Tonight I'm going to a big ol cocktail party hosted by Adrienne Maloof and I can't decide what to wear!! Here are my options:

This dress is amazing! By Phillip Lim...

They look like matte sequins but they are LEATHER!! SO cool!

I love the sleeve detail <3

This one by Miu Miu is more simple but fits like a glove and is plain so my shoe choices are broader...

The shoes:

 YSL mohawk pumps

Ganmarco Lorenzi lace/stud/bow bump

Argh! too aggressive? DSquared spine shoes. Vivienne Westwood rhinestone devil horns

Kirkwood splatter paint pumps, J.Crew necklace

Louboutin Daffodil pump

HELP HELP HELP ME!!!! Please :)

XOX,

Oscar Party!

The girls and I decided to blow off the Oscars this year to just stay home and have our own Oscar party. You know, to be low key ;)

Getting Bella ready for her big night...
(i have a treatment in my hair, that's why it looks so greasy)

On the super exclusive brown carpet. The paparazzi was insane!
(my dress is Lanvin for H&M, Leah's is vintage)

The shoes!!
 (YSL, Bordello, DSquared2)

Leah took home the Oscar for Best Hair and Makeup

I won for Best Shoes, a new category this year ;)

Bella (8) swept the Oscars with Best Actress, Best Director, Best Song, Best Cinematography, and Cutiest Cutie Pie. Congrats!

 We were all so honored!

Bella couldn't contain her emotion

Leah, usually reserved, shed tears of joy!

And I'm a total ham.

Damien, Leah's very talented son, made our awesome Oscar statue but wanted nothing to do with our silly girly photo sesh.

Thank you, and goodnight!

How are you this fine day?

I think we spent the weekend relaxing just a little too much and faced a Monday morning come-down today! My husband couldn't find his wallet (eeek!), I realised just how much there is to get done (in amongst Christmas parties and ferrying children here and there). Tonight we are in London for a proper old fashioned big Christmas do; one that requires a party dress and party shoes and a party bag. Quite excited, as long as the snow doesn't stop me in my tracks.

Hurry, hurry, hurry!

I wanted to say a GINORMOUS thank you for all the voting you did in the Best Blog 2010 contest. The results were posted and as I suspected I did not make the top 5 - I think we needed about 500+ votes to make that! However it was cool being a part of it and I was delighted to get that far.  I got a lovely feature on the Blog Guidebook site to boot.

Thank you so much...these beauties are for you...

House party...

I do love a good party. We really must get out more. In slightly more youthful (pre-children?) days there were so many parties that I never appreciated the true joy of a perfect one! Now there are a proliferation of 40th birthday parties, the same ilk as those I recall my parents going to. Tinged with a 'how did we get so old?' sensation of grown-up reality; we are incredulous at how mature we all are. There is also something marvellous about 40th birthdays. For many of our friends we are exactly where we want to be. Children slightly older, life regaining its freedom, sleep and more buoyant finance. Many hard decisions made and reconciled. The angst of how we appear to the world seems to have passed. We are replete. Traumas, for that night at least, were all gone away.

For me, there were last minute wardrobe doubts and a u-turn change of dress at the final moment. Despite that, it was so the right outfit in the end, (the LBD triumphs again) and I love it when that happens! There were a wonderful group of friends, old and newer, food and wine, nostalgic 80's music, a few drunken occurrences that were side-splittingly funny at the time. Tears of laughter. Dancing. A midnight swim for some; very warm pool, very cool night. More wine. A belated small-hours home-coming, sneaking in to a house all asleep. And today, that familiar hungover weightiness peppered with smiles and memories of a great, great night. I just had so much fun.

People's Revolution Party

How do you New Yorkers do it?? Party party every night? I can't keep up!

I'm on delay here- this party was a few nights ago... Hmmm, 3 nights ago? They're all blurring together!

Anyway, the party was insane. Tons of people and lots of dudes in heels. Ben's head was spinning- it was so funny to watch him watch everyone.

My new New York BFF William. I was about to shoe battle him! He was WERQing the Balenciaga cork platforms I am obsessed with and can't find... bitch.

Ben and his new BFF ;)

Yay! Epperson from Project Runway's 6th season :) He was so sweet and was hanging out with this very cute male model. Hello.

I mist say though, that the highlight of my evening was hanging out with the AMAZING Tony "Princess Poochie" Cooler of Shoe Daydreams.
I am smitten. We had such a good time and she made my cheeks hurt from laughing all night!

AND THE HAT!!! You gotta love the hat.
